Summer Internship Program

    Union Square Hospitality Group offers a comprehensive summer internship program for students and recent graduates looking to learn more about restaurant operations and the overall hospitality industry. The program is designed to provide exposure to all facets of restaurant operations and/or specific departments within USHG.

  • Program Timing

    Applications will be live on December 15th 2024 and will close on January 31st 2025. Offers will be extended in March. The program runs from June 2nd to August 8th, and all accepted applicants will be asked to participate for the duration of the program.

  • What To Expect

    Through an immersive experience, you will gain insight into the many roles that contribute to a successful hospitality operation. Our hope is for you to leave the summer with a solid industry foundation, one that allows you to make decisions about a future career in hospitality. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, you will be asked to share your experience with USHG leaders at a final roundtable and complete a capstone project.

How do I apply?

Who is eligible? 

Current students pursuing Associate’s, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degrees. We also accept recent graduates.

Do you sponsor visas for the summer internship program? 

Unfortunately, we will not be able to sponsor visas for the summer internship program.

Can I choose which restaurant or department I would like to be a part of? 

We will provide candidates an option to select their top 3 choices in the application. The final department assignments will be made by the USHG Team.

What is the overall interview process? What can I expect after I submit my application?

We will do a thorough review of your resume, your completed application, and your responses to the screening questions. Thereafter, there will be three rounds of virtual interviews: with our Talent Team, a group interview with other internship candidates, and a member of our Home Office/Restaurant Operations Team. 

Will USHG provide housing for interns?

USHG will provide you with resources to help you find housing during your internship program.  

What is the recruitment timeline? 

The application will be live on Sunday, December 15th and will close on Friday, January 31st. Offers will be extended in March.

Are summer internships paid? 

Yes! All internship positions are paid.

What will be the timing and start date of my internship? 

The duration of the program is 10 weeks. It begins on June 2nd and ends on August 8th.  

How can I help my resume and application stand out in the process? 

Be open! Why are you interested in hospitality? In USHG? Do your research and give us a sense of who you are, what you’re passionate about, what your experience is.

Is the application process any different for me if I’ve applied to the internship program before? 

The process for all applicants is the same, regardless of how far you previously progressed in the interview process in the past.
